BRAVE IT nominates Buratai for peace Ambassador 

Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism, Insurgency, and Terrorism (BRAVE IT) has nominated Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff and ambassador-designate,  Tukur Yusufu Buratai as a Peace Ambassador.


BRAVE IT is an advocacy and think thank created by the Kalthum Foundation for Peace, Confederation of Women Association for Peace (COWAPI), and Elbroco International Security Company Ltd.

“It was set up to proffer out of the box ideas and solutions on how to end the Boko Haram insurgency through non-kinetic approach and building resilience among Nigerians. 


The nomination was made to the Institute of Crisis Resolution and Peacebuilding and Conciliation, Abuja. This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to Newsmen by the Media Director of BRAVE IT  Amb. Auwal Umar, in Gombe on Monday in Gombe


“A total number of fifty persons nominated General Buratai (Rtd) to be conferred with the prestigious peace ambassador award by ICRPC, and a Fellowship of the Institute, “said Umar.  

“This is because of his underappreciated efforts and contributions in counterinsurgency and peacebuilding in Nigeria.

“It is our prayer that the former Chief of Army Staff  Lt-General Tukur Yusufu Buratai  will not relent in his effort in peacebuilding and conflict management in Nigeria became even though he is retired, we believe that he is not tired.”
