Amb. Buratai becomes first bearer of security torch worldwide

Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Benin Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), has been named the first security torchbearer in history.
The World Institute for Peace (WIP) presented him with this honour at the World Peace Symposium on Sunday in Lagos.
The Ambassadors of the World Institute of Peace warmly complimented Buratai for his tireless efforts to maintain peace in Nigeria, which has been attacked by Boko Haram militants.

Buratai was referred to as an exceptional soldier who gave his life for the protection of life and property in Nigeria by one of the Greek ambassadors, Amb. Rania Angelakoudi. She commended Buratai on his outstanding accomplishments.
Amb. Buratai also received a staff of honour in appreciation for his service to Nigeria.
