100 Days in Office: CSO Extols CDS Musa for Outstanding Achievements
A Civil Society Organization, Better Nigeria Movement (BNM), has commended the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the security and stability of Nigeria.
BNM through its Coordinator, Oluwapelumi Olayemi Esan, gave this commendation on General Musa’s 100 days as Chief of Defense Staff.
According to BNM, since his appointment on June 23, 2023, General Musa has demonstrated a high level of professionalism and competence in the discharge of his duties, stressing that he had also given operational directives to the Nigeria Armed Forces through the service chiefs and reported to the commander-in-chief with administrative supervision of the Honourable Minister of Defence.
Under his watch, BNM said the Nigerian military had recorded significant achievements in the fight against various security threats facing the country, saying the CDS had assured Nigeria of the commitment to put an end to the security challenges facing the country.
“Under the Chief of Defence Staff’s leadership, there has been a significant reduction in the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the Southeast region which has impacted more positively on the economy.
“His strategic approach and collaboration with other security agencies have contributed to a more stable environment in the region. The CDS has ensured that the military respects human rights and engages in dialogue with stakeholders to address the root causes of the agitation.”

BNM said through the good leadership qualities of General Musa, the military had recorded milestone achievements against banditry and Boko Haram insurgency in the Northwest and Northeast regions respectively, adding that the CDS leadership had deployed more troops and equipment to the areas and intensified intelligence gathering and collaboration with other security agencies.
“The Chief of Defense Staff’s efforts in mitigating the impact of terrorists and bandits have not gone unnoticed. His dedication to safeguarding the lives and properties of Nigerians is evident in the decline of these threats in various parts of the country.
“In Southern Kaduna, Operations have also been expanded to close some gaps to stop terrorist activities in some local government of the region
“The fight against oil thieves, who have been depriving Nigeria of trillions of naira in revenue. The CDS has supported the efforts of the Nigerian Navy and other maritime agencies to patrol and secure the nation’s waters and oil installations.”
BNM therefore urged General Musa to continue to do more in the next phase of his tenure, assuring him of their support and cooperation as he strives to fulfill his mandate.
They also called on all Nigerians to rally around him and the Nigeria Armed Forces as they defend the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Nigeria, stressing that the challenges facing the nation require a collective effort.
