2024 OurNigeria News Awards Set to Celebrate Excellence, Inspire Nigerians to Dream Bigger

Abuja is set to host the much-anticipated 2024 edition of the prestigious OurNigeria News Awards, an event dedicated to recognising exceptional individuals and organisations contributing to Nigeria’s development.
Scheduled for Thursday, January 30, 2025, the ceremony will take place at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton Abuja), bringing together leaders, achievers, and dignitaries from across the country and beyond.
With the theme “Nigeria Rising: Celebrating Excellence and Charting the Future”, the awards promise an evening of recognition, inspiration, and reflection. The event will spotlight trailblazers in various fields, including governance, business, arts, and humanitarian services, while addressing pressing issues shaping Nigeria’s present and future.
Speaking on the significance of the event, Dr. Abubakar Sani, Publisher of OurNigeria News Magazine and Convener of the event, emphasised the awards’ role in fostering excellence and inspiring progress.
“The OurNigeria News Awards is not just about celebrating achievements; it is about inspiring Nigerians to dream bigger and work harder for a better nation. January 30, 2025, will be a night of honour, inspiration, and renewed commitment to Nigeria’s growth, under the chairmanship of one of Nigeria’s high-flying business moguls, Alhaji Umar Abdulmutallab,” Dr. Sani stated.
According to a press release signed by the the publisher, the event will feature recognition of exceptional individuals and organisations shaping Nigeria’s story; celebrations of Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and artistry, a keynote address by a prominent leader, reflecting on the nation’s progress and potential; opportunities for changemakers, influencers, and industry leaders to connect.
In addition to the physical event, the ceremony will be streamed live on multiple platforms to accommodate a global audience.
The OurNigeria News Awards have, over the years, celebrated notable personalities, including former Chief of Army Staff Lt. General T.Y. Buratai (rtd.), the Olowu of Owu Kuta, Oba Hakeem Oyelude Makama, and former Military Governor of Lagos State, General Buba Marwa. The upcoming edition marks the seventh installment of this impactful tradition.
