Kano-based tailor and Chief Executive Officer of Basari Apparels and Textiles Nigeria Limited, Abdulkadir Basari, has announced the successful completion of his 120-hour continuous sewing challenge, tagged “Sew for the Nation,” in an attempt to set a Guinness World Record.
Basari expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful completion of the challenge, describing the journey as one marked by sacrifice, resilience and determination.
He also celebrated his team and everyone who contributed to turning the vision into reality, saying the initiative was an opportunity to showcase Nigeria’s creativity and talent.
The tailor expressed special appreciation to his mother, father, family and team members for their unwavering support, encouragement and dedication throughout the challenge.
According to him, although the sewing challenge has ended, the mission behind the initiative continues, with a commitment to supporting disadvantaged schoolchildren.
“The needle may have stopped, but the mission continues,” he said, reaffirming the team’s commitment to the Sew for the Nation vision.
The successful completion marks a major milestone in Basari’s Guinness World Record attempt. The attempt’s official recognition by Guinness World Records remains subject to the organisation’s verification process.
