Adamawa Police Arrest Suspect Over Alleged Killing of Father
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Peter Sinamai, over the alleged murder of his biological father and the disposal of the body in a well in Sangere, Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
The Command disclosed that the suspect was apprehended following a report received by police operatives, who immediately launched an investigation into the incident.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly killed his father before dumping the corpse in a well within the community.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan, has directed a thorough and discreet investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that justice is served.
The police confirmed that the deceased’s body has been recovered from the well and deposited in a mortuary for autopsy.
According to the Command, the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Condemning the incident, the Commissioner of Police described the alleged act as unacceptable and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting lives and property across the state.
He also urged residents to resolve family disputes through lawful and peaceful means and to seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise, rather than resorting to violence.
The Adamawa State Police Command assured members of the public that further updates on the case would be provided as investigations progress.
