Adeleke charges Corps Members to leverage SAED programme for self devt

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has urged the newly posted corps members in Osun to leverage the National Youth Service Corps skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programmes, for self-development and empowerment, for the betterment of their lives.
The Governor gave the admonishion at the swearing-in and official opening ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Orientation Courses for Corps Members deployed to Osun, at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, urging them to dream big, work hard and be the change they wish to see in the world.
He spoke further, ” This orientation programme is just the beginning of your incredible journey. Let me further advise you to obey all rules and regulations. Be law-abiding and always embrace peaceful co-existence, wholesome friendship, honesty and virtues. Do not indulge yourselves in frivolities and exuberances associated with modern youths, but strive to stand out and be different in order to secure your place in the future.

” I want you to know that Osun is a beautiful and relatively peaceful State. Her people are peace-loving and accommodating. So, do not be in a hurry to leave the State through relocation, but rather stay back to enjoy the serene environment, cheap commodities and love of the good people of the State,” he enunciated.
Earlier in his introductory address, the State NYSC Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim noted that 2,300 corps members, comprising 580 males and 770 females were deployed to Osun for the one-year mandatory service, while 950 were dislodged from Lagos State.
He urged them to embrace the Orientation Course with an open heart and willingness to learn, assuring them that they will acquire skills, knowledge and values that will guide them throughout their service year. Coordinator Obim further admonished them to take advantage of the various programmes and activities that have been designed to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead of them.
Highlights of the event were: swearing-in and oath of allegiance administered by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Adepele Ojo, who was represented by Hon. Justice Olufisayo Okediya laced with cultural entertainment by NYSC Cultural Troupe
On the entourage of the Governor were the secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye; the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Mr Moshood Olalekan; and the Head of Service, Mr Ayanleye Aina, among others.
