Afreximbank has reaffirmed its commitment to driving Africa’s industrialisation and intra-continental trade as a proud sponsor of the 39th Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF), themed “Connecting Businesses, Creating Value.” The fair aligns closely with the Bank’s mission to transform Africa into a hub for manufacturing, processing, and trading finished goods.

Representing the Bank at the opening ceremony, Mr. Alain-Thierry Mbongue Ebollo, Regional Chief Operating Officer for Anglophone West Africa and Head of Mission, Nigeria, delivered a goodwill message on behalf of Mrs. Kanayo Awani, Executive Vice President, Intra-African Trade and Export Development. He emphasized that the theme resonates with Afreximbank’s mandate to finance and facilitate entire value chains, promote intra-African trade, and drive industrialisation and export development across the continent.

  • African Trade Gateway (ATG): Platforms such as the Pan-African Payment & Settlement System (PAPSS), saving the continent over USD 5 billion annually in transfer costs.
  • African Collaborative Transit Guarantee Scheme (ACTGS): Simplifying cross-border trade under a single bond.
  • Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX): Empowering Africa’s creative economy.
  • Industrial and Special Economic Zones: Driving job creation and advancing value addition across the continent.

Quoting Dr. George Elombi, President and Chairman of Afreximbank, Mr. Mbongue stated:
“Africa’s future lies in value addition, in production, and in trade on our own terms.”

Through its strategic initiatives, Afreximbank continues to strengthen partnerships, empower entrepreneurs, and leverage innovation to realise the promise of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), fostering sustainable trade development and industrial growth across Africa.
