Agwatyap Honours General Musa, Stresses Need for Peace in the Country
In a significant ceremony held during the Agtyap Buffet 2023, the Agwatyap of the Agtyap Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Chief Dominic Gambo Yahaya, conferred the traditional title of Tswung Agtyap, translating to the Indispensable Pillar of Atyap, upon the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa. The event, attended by prominent figures of the kingdom, recognised the commendable services of General Musa and emphasided the importance of unity for the betterment of the region.
During the ceremony, the Agwatyap expressed his admiration for the CDS, stating, “after consultation with our people and deliberation by our traditional Council, considering the meritorious services rendered by the CDS, we hereby confer on him the traditional title of Tsuwung Atyap.” He attributed improvements in security to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, and General Musa as the Chief of Defence Staff.
Responding to the honour, General Christopher Musa expressed gratitude and addressed the challenges facing Nigeria, saying, “Although Nigeria is presently going through many challenges, together as one united people, we shall overcome them.” He urged the community of Zango Kataf to reconcile and act as one for the betterment of Kataf, Kaduna State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Acknowledging the intelligence and resilience of the people, General Musa called on the youth to exhibit their potential, good conduct, and belief in the actualization of their dreams. He pledged to continue working towards bringing peace to the kingdom, emphasising the importance of unity and cooperation.
The Agtyap Buffet, a cherished tradition of the chiefdom, provided a platform for the Agwatyap to engage with the community, review local activities, and encourage the exhibition of Atyap virtues. The event witnessed the attendance of sons and daughters of Atyap from various locations, fostering a sense of unity and collective responsibility.
