Akpabio Assures Nigerians of Peaceful 2027 Elections After Winning APC Senatorial Primary
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured Nigerians of a transparent, peaceful, and credible electioneering process ahead of the 2027 general elections under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Senator Akpabio gave the assurance shortly after emerging winner of the All Progressives Congress senatorial primary election for the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District.
Although Akpabio was the sole aspirant in the contest, the APC adopted the Option A4 voting system to validate his nomination as the party’s candidate for the 2027 elections.
Speaking after the exercise, the Senate President expressed confidence in the ability of the APC-led administration to ensure a peaceful democratic process across the country.
Meanwhile, results from other APC senatorial primaries in Akwa Ibom State showed that Aniekan Bassey emerged as the party’s flag bearer for Akwa Ibom North-East Senatorial District, while Ekong Sampson secured the APC ticket for Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District.
The primaries form part of ongoing political activities by parties across the country as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
