APC Support Groups Council Hails Nwoye’s Appointment As Party’s Deputy National Chairman (South)
By AK Peters
The APC Support Groups Council paid a courtesy and congratulatory visit to Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, the Deputy National Chairman (South), to felicitate with him on his new appointment and reaffirm their commitment to the party.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Nwoye emphasized the need to improve the party’s reward system, which he described as currently inadequate.
He commended members of the Support Groups Council for their sacrifices, noting that their efforts represent true nation-building.
“Nation building is not done in one day. You are doing so much for a party that does not even know you are doing all these for it. You spend your money, time, treasure, and ideas for the party,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation for their dedication and loyalty, adding:
“I thank you for loaning and using your name to make our party great. Keep doing what you are doing. I want to assure you that you will be remembered this time around.”
For some of us, the party is the only family or relation that we have, Nwoye said.
Reflecting on his personal journey, Dr. Nwoye acknowledged the challenges within the party but encouraged perseverance:
“I have had my fair share of frustrations in this party, but see what I am today. This party is for all of us.”
He urged members to remain steadfast and committed to the success of the party and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
In his remarks, Dr. Nwoye described the APC Support Groups Council as a formidable structure that “has come to stay,” and called on members to continue working diligently for the growth of the party.
Earlier, the Director General of the APC Support Groups Council, Hon. Sadiq Jikta, who led the delegation, praised Dr. Nwoye for his longstanding support for the group. He expressed confidence that, as a former Support Groups leader, the Deputy National Chairman would continue to represent and stand firmly for their interests.
Also speaking, Sir Dr. AK Peters, Deputy Director General (South South), offered prayers for Dr. Nwoye and pledged the unwavering support of the Council to ensure the success of his tenure.
The Council presented a roll-up banner to Dr. Nwoye as a symbol of congratulations and solidarity in his new assignment.
The delegation included the Deputy Directors General representing the South-South, South-East, and North-East regions, the National Secretary, and several other members.
Dr. Nwoye, a former State Chairman and a founding member of the ACN which later merged to form the APC, assured the Council of his commitment to taking the party to the grassroots, particularly in the South.
