APC Supporters Storm Damaturu to Welcome Buni, Malam Wali After Abuja Screening
Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from across the 17 Local Government Areas of Yobe State on Thursday stormed Damaturu, the state capital, in a massive show of support for Governor Mai Mala Buni and governorship aspirant Baba Malam Wali following their screening in Abuja.
The supporters, who gathered at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Damaturu, welcomed the duo amid chants, party songs, and displays of solidarity, describing the event as a demonstration of APC’s strength in the state.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Buni said the turnout was a reflection of unity and strong party loyalty in Yobe State, describing it as evidence that the state remains firmly aligned with the APC.
He urged party members to maintain unity and avoid actions capable of dividing the party, warning against name-calling, abuse, and internal conflict.
“We remain one united family. We must not allow politics to divide us,” the governor said, adding that political engagement should reflect the cultural values of respect and discipline.
Governor Buni also commended party supporters for their continued trust in the administration and appreciation of decisions taken by the party leadership.
He further noted that public support for the administration had contributed to developmental achievements, including infrastructure projects such as the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport.
The governor also expressed appreciation for the overwhelming endorsement of the party’s preferred governorship aspirant, Baba Malam Wali, following the screening exercise in Abuja.
