Army Commissions Multiple Projects In 23 Brigade Yola

While on an operational visit to 23 Brigade Yola, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Division of the Nigerian Army (NA) and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), launched a number of initiatives to improve the welfare of the troops.
At the commissioning ceremony held at Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola, Adamawa State, the GOC said that the projects will enhance the general welfare and development of the troops, enabling them to carry out their responsibilities of safeguarding civilian lives and property to the best of their abilities.
At the commissioning ceremony, Major General AE Abubakar, the Special Guest of Honour, said that the improvements had been painstakingly designed and carried out to give the servicemen and their families a comfortable and conducive living environment.
He disclosed that the initiative’s goal is to guarantee that soldiers get enough sleep and refuel to give their best efforts.
General Abubakar went on to say that the projects that have been put into service are more than just buildings; they are representations of the advancement, cohesion, and commitment of the NA leadership to providing the facilities and infrastructure that soldiers need to perform their jobs well and lead happy lives.

He pleaded with staff to make the best use of the projects since they show the soldiers the confidence and support of the country and the armed forces. He also urged the soldiers to perform their jobs with professionalism in light of their ongoing sacrifices for the country.
The Chief of Army Staff’s visionary leadership and unwavering support for 3 Division are much appreciated, and the GOC also congratulated Brigadier General MJ Gambo, Commander of 23 Brigade, for setting a commensurate level in the cantonment’s infrastructure development.
The Commander of 23 Brigade had earlier stated in his welcome speech that the GOC’s support and strategic direction had enabled the projects to be completed successfully.
He expressed his gratitude to Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, for deeming 23 Brigade deserving of receiving assistance from the Chief of Army Staff’s intervention initiatives.
He reaffirms the Brigade’s dedication to carrying out its constitutional role in accordance with the COAS mission mandate.
Among the projects commissioned include, remodeled Gibson Jalo Cantonment Gate and Quarter Guard, Newly constructed RSM Office, renovated 231 Battalion office complex as well as renovated officers and soldiers accommodation.
Others include, the newly constructed and renovated electric-powered water borehole, renovated 23 Brigade Cemetery, and the newly renovated Officers’ mess amongst others.
