Army Public Relations Director Gets Promotion to the Rank of Major General

In a decision by the Army Council on December 21, 2023, Brigadier General Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations Officer, has been promoted to the prestigious rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army.
This promotion is part of a larger set of promotion that includes the elevation of 47 Brigadier Generals to Major Generals and 75 Colonels to Brigadier Generals.

Brigadier General Nwachukwu, in addition to his public relations role, will now assume responsibilities commensurate with the rank of Major General, expressed deep gratitude for the recognition of his service and dedication. In a statement, he acknowledged the significance of this promotion not only for himself but also for the entire Nigerian Army.
“I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to serve at a higher capacity within the Nigerian Army. This promotion is a testament to the collective efforts of our officers and the relentless commitment we share in safeguarding our nation,” remarked Brigadier General Nwachukwu.
The newly promoted Major General emphasised his commitment to upholding the values of the Nigerian Army and contributing to its continuous growth and success. He extended appreciation to the Army Council for their confidence in his abilities and pledged to redouble his efforts to justify the elevation.
Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, personally congratulated Brigadier General Nwachukwu and the other officers on their promotions. General Lagbaja urged them to continue their dedicated service, emphasising the pivotal role they play in maintaining the security and stability of Nigeria.
