The high-level gathering comes amid escalating tensions within the party following a decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to remove the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary, respectively.
INEC also declined to recognise Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is seeking to be declared national chairman through ongoing legal proceedings.
In addition, the Commission announced the suspension of recognition for all factions within the party and stated that it would not monitor any conventions or congresses organised by any of the contending groups.
According to INEC, the measures will remain in place pending the final determination of a substantive suit before the Federal High Court in Abuja.
The development has further deepened uncertainty within the ADC, as stakeholders await clarity on the party’s leadership structure ahead of key political activities.
