Bandits: Bagudu donates 6 patrol Vehicles, 30 motorcycles to Nigerian Army

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has donated 6 Hilux patrol vehicles and 30 motorcycles to the Nigeria Army (NA).

According to a press release issued by Yahaya Sarki, media aide to the governor, the gesture was towards boost security and enhance the Army’s operational capability.

 

He added that the donation was also in furtherance of the governor’s commitment in supporting the Army to eliminate banditry in Kebbi and other states in the North West.

 

Sarki explained that the vehicles which were donated to the 8th Division of the Nigeria Army Sokoto were handed over to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) One Brigade Gusau, Maj-Gen U.A Yusuf.

 

Governor Bagudu who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Major Garba Rabiu-Kamba (rtd), commended the Army’s display in the fight against crimes and criminality.

 

He said, “The governor was fully satisfied with the gallantry displayed by the troops and success recorded in the fight against banditry other forms of criminality nationwide”.

 

Receiving the donations, the GOC who represented by Brig-Gen Isyaku Awolabi Alatunji, appreciated the Government and people of Kebbi state for their support to the Army.

 

Sarki stated that the GOC specifically thanked Governor Bagudu for his sympathy visit to One Battalion Dukku Barracks in Birnin Kebbi to condole with the families of the soldiers who died in active Service early this week as well as those who sustained injury”.

 

“On behalf of the NA High Command, the Brigade Commander expressed profound appreciation to the governor for also donating a large amount of money to the families of the fallen heroes and wounded soldiers now receiving treatment,” Sarki stated.

 

According to Sarki, “He indicated that the motorcycles donated by the Kebbi State Government would be deployed for patrol purposes in areas facing security challenges, such as Makuku, Maga and Dankolo”.
