Barau Inaugurates APC Campaign Committees in Kano, Urges Members to Mobilise for 2027 Elections
The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State to strengthen party unity and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Senator Barau made the call at the weekend during the inauguration of campaign committees for Dawakin Tofa, Tofa and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas of Kano State, where he charged party members to work collectively towards securing victory for all APC candidates.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Ismail Mudashir, the Deputy President of the Senate expressed optimism about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s chances in the January 16, 2027 presidential election, citing assessments by political analysts and the prevailing political situation.
“Based on the assessments of political analysts and the current state of Nigerian politics, all indications suggest that, by Allah’s grace, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the presidential election,” he said.
Senator Barau expressed appreciation to party leaders, elected representatives, local government chairmen, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other stakeholders for their support and commitment to the APC.
He said the foundation laid by President Tinubu during his first term would, by the grace of Allah, produce the desired results in a second term, adding that the unity and cooperation within the party would be sustained.
The Deputy Senate President noted that Kano, as one of Nigeria’s most populous states and the state with the second-highest number of registered voters after Lagos, deserved greater attention and development opportunities from the Federal Government.
He described Governor Yusuf’s decision to move from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the APC as a strategic step that had strengthened Kano’s political relevance and improved its access to development opportunities.
He expressed confidence that the political alignment among councillors, local government chairmen, state legislators, members of the National Assembly and the Governor would translate into tangible benefits for the people.
Senator Barau also said the campaign committees were constituted to accommodate party leaders, executive committee members, former and serving legislators, councillors, local government chairmen, new members and respected elders.
He urged members of the committees to take their responsibilities seriously by mobilising supporters and campaigning across their respective communities.
“What is required of you is to play your part actively in securing victory. Mobilise, campaign and ensure that all APC candidates emerge victoriously from top to bottom. May Allah grant us success and enable us to achieve our goals,” he said.
