In the Galambi District Area, the Bauchi Emirate Council dismissed six newly appointed traditional titleholders.

According to the council, the customary rulers’ turbaning procedure did not follow set protocols.

Recall that traditional rulers such as Galadiman Danlawal, Majidadin Danlawal, Wakilin Dokan Danlawal, Wakilin Gonan Danlawal, Sarkin Dajin Danlawal, and Hardon Danlawal were appointed and turbaned by the District Head of Galambi, Alh. Shehu Adamu Jumba, the Danlawal of Bauchi Emirate. Still, the Emirate Council did not think highly of this move.

The decision to strip the traditional rulers of their titles was announced in a statement issued by Malam Babangida Hassan Jahun, the chief information officer of the Bauchi Emirate Council, during its council meeting.

The statement added that the district head has been prohibited from making such appointments for one year, starting on November 7, 2023.

He was further directed to strictly adhere to established guidelines for future turbaning processes.
