Gen Lagbaja emphasised that the promotion was a testament to the hard work and exceptional diligence exhibited by the newly promoted senior officers in the discharge of their duties. ” I urge you to perceive this elevation as a recognition of your commitment to duty and a demonstration of your suitability for the higher rank. Hence, you must now be prepared for elevated responsibilities,” he charged.
Addressing the gathering, the COAS directed the Brigadier Generals to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, emphasising loyalty to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the President, and the Nigerian Army (NA). He further urged them to actively contribute to the realisation of his command philosophy, focusing on transforming the NA into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force capable of fulfilling constitutional responsibilities within a joint environment.
The pinnacle of the event was the ceremonial decoration of the Chief of Staff to the COAS, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, by the Army Chief himself.
Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, expressing gratitude on behalf of the newly decorated senior officers, thanked God for the honour bestowed upon them and their families. He extended appreciation to the COAS and other top-ranking officials of the NA for their mentorship and guidance throughout their careers.
Brigadier General Nafiu also acknowledged the unwavering support and prayers of their spouses and personnel.
