Bianca Censori Takes on Role as Guest Critic at Columbia University Architecture Review
Bianca Censori, the Australian architect and wife of American rapper Kanye West, has been invited to serve as a guest critic at Columbia University in New York, where she reviewed architectural projects presented by students.
Censori participated in the Master of Architecture Advanced Studio IV Final Reviews held on April 28, 2026, at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP).
The session brought together guest critics and faculty members to assess students’ final design projects and provide professional feedback as part of their academic evaluation.
Her invitation has drawn attention to her professional background in architecture, a side of her career that is sometimes overshadowed by her public appearances and marriage to West.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Censori studied architecture at the University of Melbourne, where she obtained a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2017 and a Master of Architecture degree in 2020.
Before joining West’s fashion and design company, Yeezy, in November 2020, she worked as a student architect at DP Toscano Architects in Melbourne. She has also been involved in creative and design projects with her husband.
Censori’s appearance at Columbia University highlights her continued involvement in architecture and design, as she shared her professional perspective with students preparing to enter the field.
Her participation as a guest critic also provided an opportunity for the students to receive feedback from a professional with academic training and experience in architectural design.
The visit marks another public engagement in Censori’s professional career beyond her high-profile presence in the entertainment and fashion industries.
