Addressing newsman shortly after meeting with officials and elders in LGA, the governor announced that the relaxation of the curfew in Billiri will take effect from 6am on Thursday.
The governor stated that the relaxation is expected to aid the peace and healing process which had been agreed to be led by the LGA branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The governor said: “I have gone round along with the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in charge of Bauchi and Gombe who had come to personally see and access the situation and I can see that normalcy has been restored reasonably.
“As a result, we held peace talks with both the Muslims and Christian communities, they have embraced themselves, that is what we expect from them,” Governor Yahaya stated while announcing that the residents can be allowed to go about their activities for 8 hours of the day.
