Bishop Naga Calls for Peace, Unity in Northeast

In a passionate address aimed at fostering harmony and progress, Bishop Muhammed Naga has called upon the people of the Northeast region to embrace peace, unity, and development.

Bishop Naga made the call in Maiduguri during the maiden dinner and awards ceremony of the Concerned Citizens of the Northeast CCNE.

He emphasized the importance of coming together to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future.

“The Northeast region has the potential to thrive if we stand united,” Bishop Naga declared.

“Peace and unity are the cornerstones of development. It’s time for us to put aside our differences and work collectively towards a brighter future for our region.”

His message resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom have faced the difficulties of conflict and division.

Bishop Naga’s call to action serves as a reminder of the power of community and cooperation in driving positive change.

Also speaking, former Chief of Army Staff and former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Lt- General Tukur Yusufu Buratai urged the Citizens of the region to stand up for the developmental strides.

He said statistics has shown that the Northeast remains one of the least developed regions of the country in terms of education, health facilities, enrollment into schools and infrastructure.

“The coming on board of the CCNE as a pressure group to champion the cause of the masses and the generality of the Northeast people is timely and a watershed to giving a voice to the voiceless.

Buratai urged the group to pursue its objectives vigorously while defending the cause of the region. In his words: “The region is highly blessed with vast land for agriculture, animal husbandry and of cause, mineral explration”

He said that, in the 60s and 70s fish, caolin and other resources were gotten from the region and before the Boko Haram adventure, the Northeast produced the fish that was supplied to the entire country and beyond while the prospects of oil has remained high.

He urged the group to heighten their voices in the call for the harnessing of these resources for the benefit of all, while calling on the group to begin advocacy for character moulding and attitudinal change among the youths while pursuing their legitimate businesses.
