These developments underscore a strong commitment to gender-inclusive governance, aligning with the EU’s Gender Action Plan III. The initiative promotes women’s leadership, economic empowerment, and active participation in decision-making at all levels of government.
Stakeholders involved in the programme have highlighted that these strides are part of broader efforts to strengthen democratic representation, ensure equitable opportunities for women, and foster sustainable community development across Borno State.
With these advances, Borno State sets a benchmark for inclusive local governance, demonstrating that women’s meaningful participation in leadership can drive progress and transformative change at the grassroots level.
