In a bid to address the pressing security concerns facing the nation, Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism Insurgency and Terrorism (BRAVE-IT), a non-governmental organization dedicated to countering violent extremism and terrorism, on Friday, hosted a breakfast meeting aimed at discussing Nigeria’s current security landscape. The meeting also served as a platform to commend the commendable efforts of the Armed Forces.
In her welcome address, the National Coordinator of BRAVE-IT, Aisha Rabo, expressed her delight in welcoming the attendees, highlighting the importance of the gathering in assessing the security situation and acknowledging the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces. She emphasized BRAVE-IT’s advocacy for the non-kinetic strategy employed by the military in combating insurgency, which has proven to be highly effective.
“We envision a future where the people of Nigeria recognize and value the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women, thereby motivating them to continue their perfect service with dedication and professionalism,” Rabo remarked.
Also speaking, the Deputy National Coordinator of BRAVE-IT, Dr AK Peters, commended the military under the leadership of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, noting that the country has never had it better in military leadership.
According to him, under the leadership of Gen Musa, the military has become bolder and more strategic than it used to be. He urged Nigerians to collaborate with the military in its effort to build resilience against violent extremism, insurgency and terrorism through the non-kinetic approach.
The event with the theme, “Exploits of the Armed Forces in Countering Insurgency, Insecurity, and Terrorism in Nigeria Through Non-Kinetic Operations”, brought together distinguished guests, both men and women, to deliberate on ways to further enhance national security and support the efforts of the Armed Forces.
With a focus on collaboration and strategic planning, participants engaged in discussions aimed at reinforcing the country’s resilience against violent extremism, insurgency, and terrorism.
As the breakfast meeting concluded, it underscored the importance of collective action in safeguarding the nation and reiterated BRAVE-IT’s commitment to supporting the military in its mission to ensure peace and security across Nigeria.
