President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has provided assurance to Nigerians that the approved bill will swiftly make its way to President Bola Tinubu for prompt enactment into law.
This follows President Tinubu’s presentation of the 2024 budget estimates, amounting to N27.5 trillion, to the National Assembly in late November. The budget, aptly named the ‘Budget of Renewed Hope,’ is designed to foster micro-economic stability, reduce poverty, and enhance access to social security, among other objectives.
Senator Akpabio reiterated his commitment to ensuring the bill’s swift transmission to the President, emphasising the goal of having it enacted into law by January 1, 2024.
The disparity between the initially proposed budget and the approved one will undoubtedly be a focal point of discussion in the coming days.
