BUA Foods Unveils Largest Investment Drive, Targets Leadership in Nigeria’s Food Industry
BUA Foods Plc has announced the largest investment programme in its history following a strong financial performance in 2025, with plans to significantly expand its operations and strengthen its position in Nigeria’s fast-growing food industry.
The company is set to diversify into the instant noodles market while also expanding its wheat milling and edible oils production capacity as part of its long-term growth strategy.
Chairman of BUA Foods, Abdul Samad Rabiu, said the new investments are designed to increase local food production, improve food security and meet the growing demand for affordable staple foods across Nigeria.
According to him, the expansion programme will position BUA Foods to become Nigeria’s largest food manufacturing company by next year, reinforcing the company’s commitment to industrial growth and national economic development.
The planned investments are expected to boost local manufacturing capacity, create employment opportunities and strengthen Nigeria’s agro-processing value chain.
Industry analysts believe BUA Foods’ entry into the instant noodles segment could intensify competition in one of Africa’s largest consumer markets, where demand for affordable and locally produced food products continues to grow.
Since its listing on the Nigerian Exchange, BUA Foods has continued to expand its footprint across key food production sectors, including sugar refining, flour milling, pasta production and edible oils, making it one of the country’s leading food manufacturing companies.
The latest investment drive underscores the company’s confidence in Nigeria’s economy and its determination to support domestic production while contributing to sustainable industrialisation and economic growth.
