Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the 2024 Ramadan fasting.
This is contained in a statement by Buni’s Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed in Damaturu.
The governor prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to accept every act of worship performed by the people during the holy month.
“As we celebrate the Eid-el-fitr, marking the end of the one month religious obligation, l enjoin us all to take the lessons of sacrifice, care and compassion exhibited during the fasting period beyond the Ramadan season.
“I am particularly impressed with the massive feeding programme provided by government, individuals, and corporate organisations to orphans, indigent families, and vulnerable groups. This should be encouraged even after Ramadan,” he said.
Buni commended the security agencies for their valued contributions to peace and stability of Yobe state and urged the citizenry to continue praying for the unity, security and prosperity of the state and the nation at large.
The governor promised to launch more agricultural programmes as part of the state’s efforts toward agricultural revolution to enhance food sufficiency and security.
“I wish to use this opportunity to appeal to the good people of Yobe state, especially our energetic youth, to take advantage of this intervention to explore, exploit and expand the agricultural potentials in your various communities.
“Our government is committed to making agriculture productive, attractive, and profitable in the state. This is to promote food sufficiency and security in the state,” the governor said.
He assured the people that government would continue to provide the necessary infrastructure to fastrack development to improve their lives.
