Buratai Pays Condolence Visit to Yar’adua Family, Praises Late Matriarch’s Legacy

Former Chief of Army Staff and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Benin Republic, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd), CFR, paid a condolence visit to the ‘Yar’adua family in Katsina on Friday, September 6, following the passing of their matriarch, Hajiya Habiba Dada Musa ‘Yar’adua.
Upon arrival, General Buratai was received by Distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Musa ‘Yar’adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, alongside other prominent figures, including Alhaji Mustapha and Major General Abubakar Adamu (rtd). In a moving gesture, Buratai offered prayers for the repose of Hajiya Dada’s soul, asking for Allah’s blessings and protection over her family.
Speaking on the late matriarch, General Buratai described her as “a mother anyone could wish for,” whose strength, humility, and dedication to her family and community left an indelible mark. He added that her influence would be deeply missed, encouraging the family to take solace in the legacy she left behind.
In response, Senator Abdulaziz Musa ‘Yar’adua expressed his deep appreciation for Buratai’s visit and kind words, commending the General’s leadership and his dedication to national peace and security. The Senator also praised Buratai’s commitment to the welfare of troops and veterans.
General Buratai was accompanied by Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd), Honourable Alhaji Aminu Balele, and Alhaji Ibrahim Danfulani, among others.
