CAC Sets December 1 Deadline for Insolvency Practitioners’ Accreditation Renewal

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has directed all accredited insolvency practitioners to renew their accreditation on or before December 1, 2026, warning that failure to comply will result in automatic suspension.

In a notice issued by its management, the commission said the renewal requirement is in line with Section 705 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), 2020, and Regulation 1.07 of the Insolvency Regulations, 2022, which provide for a three-year accreditation validity period, subject to renewal upon expiration.

The CAC warned that practitioners whose accreditation is suspended will be ineligible to undertake new insolvency assignments or continue existing ones.

The commission also announced a mandatory re-registration exercise for all accredited insolvency practitioners, including those whose accreditation remains valid, as part of its end-to-end automation process and efforts to update identification records in line with the NIMC Act, 2026.

According to the CAC, new certificates featuring enhanced security measures will be issued to practitioners upon successful registration.

All renewal applications and re-registration processes must be completed online through the commission’s insolvency portal at (https://insolvency.cac.gov.ng)(https://insolvency.cac.gov.ng).

The CAC advised all affected practitioners to comply promptly to avoid disruptions to their professional activities.

Further information is available on the commission’s official website at www.cac.gov.ng.

Signed: Management, Corporate Affairs Commission.
