Cashier docked for allegedly stealing N870,190
A company cashier, Adegoke Adeyemi, on Wednesday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N870,190.
Adegoke, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a one-count charge of stealing.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp Kenrich Nowaye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 5, at about 10:00 a.m.
Nowaye said that the defendant stole the sum of N870,190 belonging to his employer, Jumia Logistics Company, Ikeja.
He said that the offence contravened Section 280 and was punishable under Section 287 (7) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fajana, granted the defendant N150,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Fajana said that one of the sureties must be a relative of the defendant and with a verified residential address.
She said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and with evidence of two years’ tax payment to Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until March 28, for mention.
