Chief of Defence Staff Advocates for Enhanced Military Production During DICON Visit
General Christopher Gwabin Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, led a delegation to the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) to assess and encourage the advancement of military production capabilities.
Received by Major General AE Edet, the Director General of DICON, the visit on March 18, 2024, focused on the progress and strategic planning of the corporation.
The Director General outlined DICON’s new vision and mission aimed at establishing a robust military-industrial complex and highlighted the upcoming 60th anniversary of the corporation. He emphasised the need for modern machinery to meet the growing demands of the Armed Forces.
General Musa commended DICON’s achievements and stressed the importance of starting small to achieve significant progress. “DICON must encourage partnerships and collaboration with local fabricators to bolster production, address unemployment, and enhance national security,” he charged.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Ordinance Factory, showcasing DICON’s commitment to innovation and excellence in military production.
