COAS visits, commiserates with ex- COAS wife (Photos)
Lt-Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has paid a condolence visit to Mrs Dorothy Chris Alli, widow of the late former Chief of Army Staff, Maj Gen Chris Alli, at his Osborne Foreshore Estate home in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Gen Lagbaja, accompanied by some top Nigerian Army brass, paid the visit today, Wednesday to commiserate with the widow of the deceased Army Chief, who was also a former National President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), as well as other family members.

During the visit, the COAS termed Gen Alli’s death as a shock and a massive loss not just to the Nigerian Army, but also to the whole Armed Forces of Nigeria and the nation at large.
He commended the late former COAS’s virtues, describing him as an insightful, outspoken, and visionary military leader whose substantial contributions to the development of the Nigerian Army and the nation’s defense will live on in the institutional memory of the Nigerian Army.
He stated that the Nigerian Army would work hand in hand with the deceased’s family to ensure a proper burial.
Gen. Lagbaja informed the family that the Nigerian Army would be there for them whenever they needed it.
Captain Shuaibu Salawana (Rtd) speaking on behalf of the late COAS’s family, expressed gratitude to the COAS and the whole Nigerian Army for the prompt condolence visit and expressed concern for the deceased’s family.
The presentation of a bouquet of flowers to the widow and the signing of the condolence register in honor of the late COAS were highlights of the visit.
