Conflicts: Committee resolves 800 disputes in 12 months in Yobe

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its Primaries re-elected Mr Awaji-Inombek Abiante as its candidate for the

Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

This followed a peaceful Congress conducted on Sunday in Ngo town, headquarters of Andoni local government area of Rivers.

Returning Officer for the election, Mr Tambari Gbara, who is also State Publicity Secretary of the party, declared Abiante winner after he polled 51 votes cast by delegates of Andoni and Opobo-Nkoro LGA’S which made up the Constituency.

Abiante, an astute politician and two times representative of the Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro federal constituency commended delegates and his constituents for the trust bestowed in him.

The lawmaker also expressed confidence in the party’s victory while also pledging a more robust commitment to the party and his constituents.

Similarly, Mr Ofiks Kagbang was also elected candidate for the Andoni State Constituency.

Mr Uche Minikwu, Returning Officer for the election declared him the winner after he polled 31 votes cast by delegates from the 11 wards in Andoni LGA.

Reacting to his victory, Kagbang expressed optimism about his victory come 2023 as he pledged continued trust and capacity ahead of the election.
