CSDA reiterates commitment to providing basic infrastructural facilities to Osun communities

Osun State Government Community and Social development Agency, CSDA, has reiterated it’s continuous efforts in providing basic infrastructure and basic amenities such as water, roads, heath care services and other necessary facilities to communities in the state.

The General Manager of the Agency, Mrs Funmi Aderonke Abokede dropped this hints while fielding questions from journalists during a programme “News Point” organised by the NUJ Correspondent Chapel in Osogbo the Osun State capital on Wednesday.

Mrs Abokede said, many communities are demanding of road, transformers for their communities adding that transformation agenda of Governor Ademola Adeleke has paid off in providing basic needs of the entire people of Osun.

The CSDA General Manager informed that, about 185,825 persons including the vulnerable persons have so far benefited from the various projects embarked upon by the agency.

She added that, the state government has committed over 22billion Naira for the provision of rural infrastructures such as water, health facilities, road amongst others.

“Out of those benefited are 94,439 females and 91,286 male that cut across the local and Development area councils of the state .

Also 121 water and sanitation, health, education and lock up shops”.

Mrs Abokede, said 176 micro projects have been completed while about 92 are still ongoing which, she said will soon be completed.

She disclosed that the government has committed over 2billion naira for rural development projects across the local council areas of the state which are visible for anybody to see.

The CSDA General Manager hinted that the areas that have benefitted from the Agency were carefully selected by the communities themselves who visited their office bringing proposals on identified areas of their needs.

According to her, the vision and mission of the Agency is to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people especially those who had Heath challenges.

“The Agency has been able to assist the people who are vulnerable to many communities the Agency has visited to provide their basic needs. Many of them have received succour through the Agency magnanimity.

The General Manager who appreciated the effort of journalists on their efforts in propagating the developmental agenda of the state government said through CSDA that is saddled with the responsibility of overseeing developmental agenda of the state.

While saying that, despite the challenges on high cost of materials in putting on projects that needed by the people in various rural communities, she said, the Agency will not relent in achieving his goals and objectives on which it was established.

” We have been able to provide succour to many communities, some of them have shower praises on the Agency. We were able to achieved all these through the support of Mr governor who has been magnanimous enough to providing the needed and necessary support for the Agency in carrying out its work without any hindrance”.

Abokede, however commended Governor Ademola Adeleke unalloyed support to the CSDA adding that Mr Governor’s adequate support has contributed to the smooth running of the agency while assuring that the agency will continued to reach out to rural dwellers by ensuring they enjoy the what their counterpart enjoys in the Urban cities.
