Customs Introduces Mandatory Drug Testing for Recruits, Serving Officers

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, on Tuesday announced a new policy mandating compulsory drug testing for all recruits and serving officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS).

Adeniyi said the policy is part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening discipline, enhancing professionalism, and ensuring that officers entrusted with national security and revenue protection are mentally and physically fit for duty.

He noted that the mandatory testing will be integrated into recruitment processes as well as periodic assessments for serving personnel.
