Dangote Cement Welcomes the NISS Team for an Insightful Study Tour

The Plant Director of Dangote Cement Plc, Obajana, Mr. Azad Nawabuddin, recently played host to members and students of the National Institute of Security Studies (NISS) from Abuja.
The visit was part of Executive Intelligence Management Course (EMIC) 17’s study tour of Kogi State.
Expressing gratitude for the visit, Mr. Nawabuddin welcomed the NISS team, emphasising the alignment of their theme, “Artificial Intelligence, Security, and Emerging Economies in Africa: Challenges and Prospects,” with the innovative strides of Dangote Cement.
Led by Hon. Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology for Kogi State, Hon. (Dr.) Adeniyi A. Helen, the team explored various facets of the plant’s operations, including AI utilisation, energy security, environmental initiatives, capacity building, and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
The programme lead, Mr. Hyginus Ngele, highlighted the course’s objective of nurturing security experts equipped to formulate and implement policies conducive to Nigeria’s economic and social advancement. With 92 participants engaged in the programme, the visit to Dangote Cement offered practical insights into industrial operations within the context of national security.
Throughout the interaction, both parties exchanged ideas and insights, fostering a mutually enriching dialogue. The students expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and valuable discussions, underscoring the significance of such industry-academia collaborations in fostering holistic development.
The engagement underscored the pivotal role of private enterprises like Dangote Cement in shaping not only the economic landscape but also contributing to the discourse on security and sustainable development. As the tour concluded, both Dangote Cement and NISS affirmed their commitment to future collaborations aimed at addressing contemporary challenges and unlocking Africa’s potential.
