The Ogun State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) has applauded Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) for its pivotal role in fostering economic growth and sustainability in the state.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abeokuta ahead of the 14th Gateway International Trade Fair, OGUNCCIMA President, Lion Niyi Oshiyemi, described Dangote Group as a long-standing partner and Africa’s most formidable business conglomerate. He noted that the company’s continued interest in the trade fair underscores its status as a hub for commerce, innovation, and economic exchange.

“The remarkable contributions of Dangote to this fair and the Nigerian economy at large are highly commendable. In the same vein, your presence here today reaffirms the significance of the Gateway International Trade Fair as a hub for commerce, innovation, and economic exchange,” Oshiyemi said.

He also lauded the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his administration’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment, which has attracted investments and positioned the state as an economic powerhouse.

This year’s trade fair, organized in collaboration with the Ogun State Government, continues to serve as a premier platform for business networking, innovation, and investment promotion. The event, themed “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” highlights the importance of strategic alliances in strengthening industries and driving economic growth.

“Beyond business engagements, the fair also serves as a melting pot of cultures, ideas, and innovations. As we navigate the ever-evolving global economy, it is imperative that we embrace partnerships, technology, and sustainable business practices to remain competitive and relevant,” Oshiyemi emphasized.

Meanwhile, Dangote Group has urged OGUNCCIMA to remain steadfast in ensuring the trade fair achieves its objectives. Speaking on behalf of DIL’s Group Chief, Branding & Communication, Mr. Anthony Chiejina, Francis Awowole-Browne confirmed the company’s full participation in the fair, with all business units mobilized to exhibit.

He encouraged the public to attend and take advantage of various Dangote products, including sugar, salt, seasoning, cement, fertilizer, rice, and Sinotruck trucks, which will be available at competitive prices with promotional gifts for buyers.

Awowole-Browne further advised OGUNCCIMA to adopt innovative strategies to attract more exhibitors, given the current economic challenges impacting business participation.

With Dangote Group’s strong presence and the Ogun State Government’s unwavering support, this year’s Gateway International Trade Fair is set to reinforce its reputation as a key driver of economic transformation.
