Dangote Group Partners Womenovate to Empower Female Engineers

The Dangote Group has joined forces with Womenovate, a female-focused learning platform, to support and empower women engineers in Nigeria.

Senior Advisor to the Group President, Fatima Wali-Abdurrahman, emphasised the vital role women play in engineering worldwide. As an architect, she highlighted the opportunities Dangote Group provides to women in STEM to contribute to Nigeria’s economic growth.
“Through the partnership with Womenovate, Dangote Group aims to encourage women to develop their capabilities in STEM fields,” she said.
Womenovate Founder and Chief Executive, Motunrayo Opayinka, stated that her organisation focuses on empowering women in STEM to address gender disparities. The partnership with Dangote Group has enabled them to implement initiatives such as:
– Enriched Women Community Program, equipping over 5,000 women and girls with digital skills.
– WITE (Women in Technology and Engineering) Project, which provided scholarships and mentorship for female engineers.
– Global Learning Exchange Platform, facilitating networking and collaboration among female STEM professionals.
Opayinka commended the Dangote Group’s commitment to promoting innovation and diversity in the tech sector. She noted that their partnership has had a tangible impact on supporting female-led businesses and contributing to the overall economic development of the region.
