The Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) President, Mrs. Oghogho Gwabin Musa, led a delegation to the National Mosque Abuja to donate essential food items in support of the needy as the holy month of Ramadan begins.

The philanthropic gesture was warmly received by Alhaji Haliru Sodangi, the Director of Finance and Administration at the National Mosque, along with other management staff. Alhaji Sodangi expressed his profound gratitude towards Mrs. Musa for her compassionate contribution, marking it as a historic first for the National Mosque to witness a DEPOWA President personally engaging in such a benevolent act. He offered prayers for continued blessings upon her and the organisation.

In her response, Mrs. Musa highlighted DEPOWA’s mission as a non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting the wives of fallen heroes, vulnerable youths, and the needy through various charity and empowerment programs. She emphasised the importance of providing assistance during Ramadan, a period that calls for heightened acts of charity, ensuring that the vulnerable are cared for during this time of fasting and reflection.

The event was marked by the ceremonial exchange of food items, a guided tour of the administrative area of the mosque, and a session of group photographs, encapsulating the spirit of giving and community that defines the holy month.

This initiative by DEPOWA underscores the organisation’s commitment to social responsibility and community support, setting a precedent for others to follow in the spirit of Ramadan.
