Digital Switch Over Marks Major Milestone in Nigeria’s Digital Transformation – Bosun Tijani
The Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has described the Digital Switch Over (DSO) programme as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey, underscoring its importance in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure and expanding access to information.
Speaking in his Chairman’s Address at a recent engagement, the Minister said the Digital Switch Over initiative represents a critical step towards modernising Nigeria’s broadcasting and communications landscape while supporting the Federal Government’s broader digital economy agenda.
Dr. Tijani noted that the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting would not only improve the quality and efficiency of broadcasting services but also create new opportunities for innovation, investment, and economic growth across the country.
According to him, the DSO programme is expected to enhance access to information, bridge communication gaps, and provide Nigerians with improved digital services, particularly in underserved communities.
The Minister further highlighted the role of digital infrastructure in driving national development, stressing that the successful implementation of the Digital Switch Over would contribute to job creation, technological advancement, and increased participation in the digital economy.

Dr. Tijani also called on stakeholders across the public and private sectors to continue supporting efforts aimed at accelerating Nigeria’s digital transformation and ensuring that the benefits of emerging technologies are accessible to all Nigerians.
