Dogara buries 103 yr old mother amidst tight security in Gwarangah

The Former Speaker House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara has on Saturday buried his 103 year-old Mother Mama Saratu Yakubu amidst tight security at Gwarangah in Bogoro local government area of Bauchi State.

Our correspondent reports that the Mother of the 8th Assembly Speaker, Mama Yakubu died on Friday, Dec 22, 2023, at the age of 103 at his country home with a visible number of securities spread all over Gwarangah Community.

This may be connected with the caliber and array of dignitaries that attended the burial ceremony in Gwarangah.

The digitaries include Gov Mohammed Bago of Niger State, two former SGFs Babahir Lawal and Boss Mustapha, three Former Service Chief, AVM Baba Sadiq Abubakar, AVM Wuyeb , General Tukur Burtai,

Others are two Speakers, Bankole Demiji, senator Aminu Tambuwal. Number of Serving Senators and House of Representatives members, politicians, former governor of Bauchi State Mallam Isa Yuguda, former Ministers among others.

The Former President Muhammadu Buhari, has described the late Mama Yakubu as a great mother, community leader and a peace maker with generosity.

Buhari, who was represented by the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation of Nigeria Mr Boss Mustaoha during the burial ceremony held at Gwarangah.

He said the deceased contributed to the growth and development of her community.while extending the condolence to Mr Dogora, his family and his siblings.

Buhari prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss of their beloved mother.

The Former Speaker, Dogara described his mother as a woman who led an exemplary life.

“Mama’s life modeled guts, gumption, grit, gravitas and groundedness.

“Mama was also relentless and as bold as a lion with a more compelling impactful presence.

“I am grateful beyond words to have fallen heir to your legacy of reckless boldness which defined your walk with God and the multitudes you touched in special ways.

“I am comforted by the fact that my soul knows that you are at peace with the Lord when you are told these gracious words, well done, thou good and faithful servants enter into your rest,” he said.

According to him,I promise to tell the world your story someday. Suffice it to say, rest on, my everyday heroine at the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ until we meet to part no more.

Our correspondent reports that tributes came in from the deceased children, grandchildren, in-laws and family members who celebrated her generosity, devotion to God and commitment to humanity.
