DSS Arraigns Five Over Alleged Concealment of Ex-Bayelsa Governor Sylva’s Whereabouts
The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned five Nigerians before the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of concealing information relating to the whereabouts of former Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva.
The defendants were brought before the court on a two-count charge bordering on allegedly becoming accessories after the fact to a felony by concealing the whereabouts of Sylva, who was described in the charge as a fugitive from the law.
According to the charge, the alleged offence was committed on April 28, 2026, when the accused persons were said to have knowingly withheld information that could have assisted security authorities in locating the former governor.
The DSS alleged that their actions amounted to aiding the concealment of a person wanted by law enforcement authorities.
The matter is expected to proceed before the Federal High Court as the prosecution presents its case against the defendants.
