ECOWAS Court President Receives Auditor General, Reaffirms Commitment to Accountability
The President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, Hon. Justice Charlyne M. Brumskine, has received the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions, H.E. Carla Borges Bettencourt, on a courtesy visit to the Court’s headquarters in Abuja.
The visit took place on Friday, October 30, 2026, and focused on strengthening collaboration and promoting a better understanding of the respective mandates of both institutions.
Discussions also covered issues relating to compliance and institutional procedures, with emphasis on the importance of close cooperation in carrying out their responsibilities.
The meeting was attended by Honourable Judges of the Court, directors, heads of divisions and key staff members of both institutions.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of the ECOWAS Court of Justice and the Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions to strengthening institutional relations, promoting accountability and upholding legality and the rule of law within the ECOWAS Community.
