EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede Receives Award of Excellence at Great Achievers Awards
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, was honoured with an Award of Excellence in Service at the Great Achievers Awards organized by the Great Achievers Initiative for Youth and Community Development (GAIYD) in Abuja.
The award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to society. Dr. Hilary Akpua, convener of the awards, noted that the event celebrates the accomplishments of exceptional individuals while inspiring others to pursue their passions and responsibilities with diligence.
“This award aims to spotlight those whose works have had a meaningful impact on their communities and the world at large. It serves two purposes: honouring excellence and promoting positive role models for future generations,” Dr. Akpua said.
The theme of this year’s award, “Reorientation of the Male Child Mentorship in Africa,” emphasises formal and non-formal education for boys. According to Akpua, “Since inception, we have been committed to promoting boy child inclusivity and empowering tomorrow’s leaders, one boy at a time.”

Receiving the award on behalf of Olukoyede, Assistant Commander of EFCC, ACE II Aisha Mohammed, thanked the organizers for recognising the Commission’s efforts and for deeming the EFCC Chairman worthy of the honour.
She added, “The boy child has to be strong on ethics. Lack of guidance and negligence from families towards the boy child account for the rising cases of cybercrimes. In the EFCC, we don’t just arrest; we take time to rehabilitate and reorient them on the dangers of cybercrime. The Executive Chairman is 100 percent in support of what you do, and we will give you the necessary support you need.”
