Don’t investigate me, I’ll come you – Taraba Council Chair threatens Journalist
The Chairman of Kurmi Local Government Area (LGA) of Taraba State, Mr John Joseph Amamzalla, on Sunday threatened to deal with any reporter planning to venture into investigating him over his alleged cases with the EFCC.
The council boss who was arraigned before Justice F. Agya of Taraba State High Court on a six-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and forgery gave the warning in Jalingo the capital of Taraba state.
According to EFCC, offences committed by the Chairman runs contrary to Sections 96, 315 and 366 of the Penal Code of Taraba State and that it is punishable under Section 315 of the same law.
Amamzalla was accused of stealing N104.2 million meant for capital projects in Sardauna LGA where he was a Director of Finance. Investigation revealed that the angry Council chairman is currently facing trial.
According to him, Journalists following up with his case in EFCC will be dealt with accordingly. He made it clear in a text message sent to our correspondent in Jalingo.
He assured to deal with any Journalist on the case which is on the acquisition and diversion of monthly Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and deforestation of Kurmi forest, acquisition of landed properties with a pen name for his personal use.
He said: “I am prepared to face any reporter on my way after all I am a full-time politician and I don’t have any file in the office that I will look for a promotion, I will use the little resources in my hand to face anybody that wants to make himself an enemy to the progress we are making in our beloved country home Kurmi”.
