The Cairo-based energy and infrastructure group secured a KWD 18.7 million contract, valued at approximately $60.8 million, to design, supply and install high-voltage electrical cable systems for Kuwait’s South Sabah Al-Ahmad Residential Project, one of the country’s largest national housing developments.

The turnkey project was awarded by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare and involves the deployment of advanced electrical systems rated at about 400 kilovolts. Project execution is expected to span 24 months, reinforcing Elsewedy Electric’s growing role in delivering critical power infrastructure for large-scale urban developments across the Middle East and North Africa.

Industry analysts say the contract highlights Kuwait’s continued investment in modern infrastructure while positioning Elsewedy Electric as a key partner in regional energy development.

Founded in 1938, Elsewedy Electric has grown into a multinational conglomerate operating in more than 50 countries worldwide. The company reported a 21 percent increase in revenue to $4.2 billion in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting strong demand for its power, transmission and infrastructure solutions.

Elsewedy Electric is also pursuing an ambitious $500 million expansion across Gulf markets, with Saudi Arabia and Qatar identified as strategic growth hubs, as it seeks to consolidate its leadership in the region’s fast-growing energy and construction sectors.
