While praising the AFN for keeping the country peaceful, Ambassador Bamali prayed that all of the AFN’s actions would be successful.
The Emir of Kano, who accompanied other emirate leaders to DHQ, claimed that the AFN had made a substantial contribution to Nigerian history.
He acknowledged the emirate’s gratitude for the military’s tremendous sacrifices made in support of nation-building.
Alhaji Aminu also acknowledged the need to motivate the troops and praised the productive working relationships between the emirate council and the 3 Brigade in Kano.
With the backing of the nation’s traditional rulers, he said, Kano and Nigeria are safe.
General Musa stated that the visit of the Emir of Zauzau will significantly improve troop morale in his response to the CDS on behalf of the Emir of Zauzau.
He commended the Emir for his display of support for the AFN and reassured Nigerians of the military’s determination to combat national security.
The CDS told the nation that Nigeria will make tremendous progress under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while promising to deal firmly with insecurity along the Zaria axis and other difficult areas of the country.
He expressed gratitude to the Emir and the good citizens of Kano for their strength in the face of insecurity issues in the North West and promised to support efforts across the country to tackle crime.
Alhaji Adamu Baba, the Ona of Abaji and Chairman of the FCT Council of Chiefs, visited the CDS earlier on Thursday. He expressed his gratitude to the CDS and the Armed Forces for their dedication to battling security in the country and the FCT in particular.
The monarch, who was joined by other traditional leaders from the FCT, urged the CDS to take additional steps to make Abuja safer.
He called on the AFN to stop the plague while expressing his concern about the rising rate of criminality, particularly the “one chance” offenders in Abuja.
General Musa responded by thanking the esteemed traditional leaders for attending and stating that while security is everyone’s concern, traditional leaders must encourage their people to “see something and say something” in order for the military to take prompt action.
In order to solve the issues of criminality in the FCT, Gen. Musa also implores the leaders to take community policing seriously.
