Oduah is currently facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over allegations of financial misconduct linked to her tenure in office. The case, which has been before the Federal High Court, involves accusations of money laundering and fraudulent handling of public funds.
During recent proceedings, the former minister indicated her willingness to refund the disputed amount to the Federal Government in a bid to reach a plea agreement that could resolve the case.
The development is expected to be reviewed by prosecutors and the court before any formal agreement is finalized. If accepted, the plea bargain could lead to the recovery of the funds while bringing the prolonged legal battle to a close.
The court is expected to continue hearing the matter as discussions on the proposed settlement progress.
