FAAN Holds 2026 Management Retreat to Strengthen Reforms, Drive Sustainable Growth
The Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Olubunmi Kuku, has officially declared open the 2026 FAAN Management Retreat, themed “Consolidating Gains and Institutionalizing Sustainable Growth.”
The three-day retreat, which commenced on June 5, 2026, brings together members of FAAN’s senior management team to assess the Authority’s transformation journey, strengthen institutional capacity, and align strategic priorities with evolving global aviation trends and international best practices.
Speaking at the opening session, Kuku emphasized the importance of sustaining ongoing reforms and building resilient systems that will support the long-term growth and competitiveness of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
The first day of the retreat featured extensive discussions on positioning FAAN for the future through sustained reforms and innovation. Participants examined global and African airport development trends, explored strategies for improving process standardization and performance management across Nigeria’s airports, and reviewed measures aimed at enhancing infrastructure modernization and operational efficiency.
The session also provided an opportunity for management to evaluate progress recorded under the MD/CE’s transformative agenda and strategic pillars.
Discussions focused on embedding sustainable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation throughout FAAN’s airport network while ensuring the Authority remains responsive to the changing demands of the aviation industry.
The retreat is expected to generate actionable strategies that will further strengthen FAAN’s institutional framework, improve service delivery, and support the continued modernization of airport operations across the country.
Management noted that the gathering underscores FAAN’s commitment to building a world-class airport system that meets global standards while contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth and aviation development objectives.
