FCT Police Command Arrests Three Suspected Kidnappers in Bwari Border Communities
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Police Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, fcai, conducted a strategic operational tour of Gidandogo, Garam, and Kungabako villages in Bwari Area Council, reinforcing security along the borders of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, and Kaduna States.
During the tour, CP Sanusi personally led targeted operations that resulted in the arrest of three suspected kidnappers: Nasiru Abdullahi, Samaila Dahiru, and Bello Usman, also known as Dagejo. Preliminary investigations revealed that Nasiru Abdullahi and Samaila Dahiru from Kweri village, Kaduna State, were responsible for abducting Mallam Bako from his farmland in Gushawai village on April 8, 2026. The victim was taken to Kweri forest, where kidnappers demanded a ransom of ₦50 million before his rescue by the FCT Police Command Anti-Kidnapping Unit.
Further inquiries indicate that the suspects were involved in the abduction of 20 persons in Byazin. Bello Usman, a long-time informant and logistics supplier linked to criminal networks in Kaduna State, was found coordinating bandit activities within the FCT. Law enforcement recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and twelve rounds of live ammunition from him upon arrest.

The arrests underscore the ongoing efforts of the FCT Police Command to secure border communities and combat kidnapping and banditry in the region.
